I've been looking everywhere for organic, virgin coconut oil, this stuff isn't deoderised and you'd only get better if you processed the coconut yourself.What they don't tell you is that it's soil association certified, fair trade (from the phillipines), that the company plants trees and has won an ethical company award. I am so impressed I don't have words to express it properly - but this is certainly a company that if you have any green or ethical leanings you should certainly consider purchacing from. I use the coconut oil for everything from moisturising to taking off my waterproof mascara, and it worked wonderfully, no nasty chemicals stinging your eyes, just some cottonwool and a quick wipe. My husband suffers eczema and he finds this very soothing on broken and sore skin. Coconut oil is brilliant. Not only can you use it in cooking and as a general moisturiser or bath oil, but if you have dry hair - especially if it's curly and prone to frizz - apply this to damp, towel dried hair, leave in under a shower cap for about an hour - more if you have time - then shampoo out and dry as normal. It leaves your hair feeling and looking fantastic. It's also one of the few oils that can bond with your hair and therefore genuinely nourish the hair. I have used this as a hair conditioner - wonderful, with a faint smell of coconut, but not overpowering. Hair is luscious - if you have fine hair this really does add body and gloss to it. Unfortunately, I don't like the taste, so have not been injesting it, but if you can, it can improve your nails, hair and reduce your appetite, so you will see a slight weight loss. Having said that, I must say, I do like it as a cooking oil, wonderful for pancakes and so healthy too! It's also good for any skin allergies or infections, in fact, it is so pure, you can use it for many ailments. Just google it and at this price, it is well worth trying! A wee tip: if you melt it to a liquid form, it is brilliant for dry skin and I have noticed a reduction in wrinkles around the neck area - just remember to wash it off after about thirty minutes, or your make-up will just skid off!!! |
